History
The Novomatic AG Group is one of the world’s largest gaming technology providers. Founded in 1980 in Austria, the firm now has locations in over 45 countries around the world and exports its gaming equipment to around 90 countries worldwide. Originally, the company produced state-of-the-art slot machines for the land-based casino market. The firm has continued to be at the forefront of slot machine technology ever since.
The annual turnover of the Novomatic group hit a record €1bn in 2005, and the firm reported a turnover of around €1.7bn in 2020. At the 2020 Global Gaming Awards in London, the firm received the Casino Supplier of the Year award for the third year in a row. At the 2020 SAGSE Awards, the firm won both Best Electronic Roulette and Best Land-Based Progressive. The company’s flagship slot, Book of Ra, has also previously won Best Slot Game at the highly prestigious and widely respected International Gaming Awards. In 2021, Novomatic was the runner-up at the Austrian Brand Value Awards, second only to Red Bull, and ahead of other household name Austrian brands such as Swarovski.
As well as providing an extensive portfolio of casino games to a wide variety of global partners, Novomatic is responsible for the development of related products such as myACP, a full-service modular casino management system launched in 2001. This Novomatic review found that this innovative system is now being used in close to 1,200 gaming locations across 25 countries. It is in use everywhere from small arcades through to large casino chains. This system provides operators with several features such as a secure firewall and encryption, a secure data transfer protocol, and full information backup with automated storage.
Novomatic also supplies operators within the gambling industry with other related products such as sports betting solutions and interior design for casinos, sports bars, hotels, and other venues.
